This was a good read. I really enjoyed the plot and the underlying puzzle of who is after Maxi, and what their motivations would be in harassing her.

Although Miles and Maxi’s fling ended way too quickly for Miles’ liking, she is a woman whom he cares for and he makes sure her safety and happiness comes first.

Maxi is closed off to new relationships due to things in her past. When she and Miles had their brief interlude she kept him at arms length about her personal life so they wouldn’t be any more involved than they already were.

Working through the danger and identifying people from the past who might be after Maxi’s inheritance, will she and Miles be able to build a trust and relationship, or will Maxi’s insecurities be the end of them…
